VSbulletin – Update to our Fare Basis Structure

We want to let you know that we will be making changes to our fare basis structure. The change will align with our airline partners to ensure we are able to provide harmonised pricing across UK point of sale.

 

We plan to implement the new structure on the 3 August 2020 for travel to the USA, Canada and Mexico*. Will we then continue with our UK to rest of the world network and update you with our implementation plan.

 

The result of the new fare basis structure will mean that all four carriers; AF, KL, DL and VS will now only have one set of fares for the UK market that will have no restrictions on routing**.

We have provided our fare base structure as it is today and how it will look once changes have been implemented.

* Our new fare basis structure also applies to interline and codeshare journeys from USA, Canada and Mexico to Europe and V.V

** Please note all fares that are currently only permitted via Paris (CDG) and Amsterdam (AMS) will be remove.  They will move from two sets of fares as you see today (1. London Heathrow (LHR)/Direct and 2. Via AMS and CDG) and will be replaces with one new fare permitting all.

Ticket reissues

Unused tickets issued before taxonomy changes

  1. No change to 1st fare component

 

 

  1. Where there is a change to the 1st fare component

 

Re-price itinerary using historical fares in effect on the previous ticket date or using current fares in effect at the time of ticket re-issue, whichever is lower.

 

Re-price the itinerary using current fares in effect at the time of the re-issue

 

Partially used tickets issued before taxonomy changes

Re-price with historical fares from the original ticket issue date with the old fare basis codes
